Conflict coaching is a set of skills and strategies used to support a person's ability to engage in, manage, or resolve conflict positively.  The conflict coach works individually with the person experiencing the conflict ("the coachee") to help develop capacity.

Conflict coaching enables the coachee to talk about the conflict with a neutral third party, consider options for managing the conflict, and design an approach to address the conflict with the other party.  Conflict coaching can be used as a stand-alone process, or can be practiced with each of the parties in separate meetings during mediation.
